Anyone who employs at least one employee. Work in Poland can be performed under various conditions specified in the agreement with the person who employs you. The employer signs an employment contract with you, or — if assigning you specific tasks — a contract of mandate. In specific situations, such as when you are commissioned to complete a defined service (e.g., writing a computer program), you may also be employed under a contract for a specific task. Each contract must be signed by both parties — you and the employer. It should also specify the type of work or the subject of the assignment/task, the time frame and place of performance, and your remuneration. If you do not understand the content of the document you are asked to sign, request the person who wants to employ you to provide a translation into your language. Remember, in addition to signing a contract, you must meet certain legal conditions to work in Poland lawfully.
