If you are applying to enter Poland for the purpose of seasonal work, your employer must submit an application for a seasonal work permit to the District Employment Office (pol. PUP) competent for their registered office or place of residence (a registered office in case of a legal entity, such as a company, or place of residence in case of an individual).
The application must specify, among other things: the proposed salary, the working time or number of working hours per week or month, the type of contract under which the work will be performed, and the work permit validity period.
The Poviat Staroste (the head of a county) verifies the application and either enters it into the register of applications for seasonal work or refuses to issue the seasonal work permit. The application is entered into the register within 7 working days from the date a complete application is submitted. If an explanatory procedure is initiated, this period may be extended to up to 30 days. Once the application is entered into the register, the Staroste issues a certificate confirming the entry of the application into the register of applications for seasonal work to your employer.
Your employer then provides you with this certificate. This certificate serves as the basis for issuing a visa for seasonal work purposes, or in case of entering Poland under visa-free travel, it acts as proof of the purpose of your entry into the territory of the Republic of Poland.
